We are thinking of replacing the computer on which we run qodbc but we don't want any down time connected with the issues that often come up with reactivating qodbc after reinstall.  Please let us know what it the right procedure to avoid any down time connected with this issue.

Thank you for the link.  I have another question.  Our client had QB database corruption and they think this was caused by qodbc use.  Can you tell me if open qodbc connection for some reason can corrupt QB data or not.  They also complain that since they started using access application which links to QB with qodbc the computer is very slow, printing is very slow and it was not like that before qodbc use.

What I can do to optimize qodbc and prevent any data corruptions to QB?

Thank you,

Mari Zakarian

QODBC calls the Intuit qbXML SDK which actually does all the talking and work with QuickBooks. Corruption occurs within QuickBooks and not within QODBC. MS Access takes a lot of system resources and you are kind of forced to use Multi-user mode for the company file. Going back to Single User mode is faster.

What is the latest version of QODBC for  QB Enterpise 8 USA edition?  We have the one ending with 242.  And how we should go about upgrading to a higher version which is still for QB 2008.  When the client called your support they were told that the latest for qodbc 8 ends with 244.  In the forum I see 242 as the official latest public release.

And the second question, do we need to unstall existing version before trying to run a later version?

Thank you,

Mari

You're both wrong, the latest revision is v9.00.00.253, see: How can I get the latest version of QODBC?
