Hi Tom,

You'll never believe it, but i'm back again.  Strangely, I've never had a problem installing QODBC before this ( 4 or 5 other installs)  but i have a new problem.

Installing QODBC on a different machine than the one last week (that one is still working well)  I have the following error come up when I try the "Test connection to Quickbooks" button:

[QODBC]  QODBC requires API version 1.1 or 2.0 to communicate with Quickbooks

Can you help please?  Here is what I have tried so far:

Uninstalling QB2007, including deleting the common/intuit folder, uninstalling QODBC

Reinstalling QB2007, reinstalling QODBC

Guessing that API 1.1 and 2.0 is .NET framework from MS, so updating windoes, .NET actually installs as .NET 3.0.  So installing .NET 3.0

A little bit of swearing at the machine.

To no avail.  Thanks for your help, as always,

Duncan.

Did you remember to register your copy of QuickBooks first? The copy of QuickBooks must be registered for the SDK to work.

Ok, then you will have to delete your:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit

folder again and re-install ONLY your QuickBooks 2007 edition of QuickBooks as a new install and install QODBC again afterwards. Only one version of QuickBooks can be installed.

From there do the: How do I connect to QuickBooks for the first time? procedure (that you know by heart now).

Ok Thank you.  It's working now.  Must have been the third-install-lucky-effect.  (or that i missed something the first two times...     )

Thanks again - Duncan.
