Problem: QODBC is launching the Quickbooks Pro 2007 instead of the Premier version.

Background: Canadian Quickbooks Premier Multi-Currency was just installed on the accounting computer (XP Pro SP2) . The same computer still has Canadian  Quickbooks Pro 2007. I've installed the QODBC Version 8 and set up the ODBC driver. I am using MS Access to move invoices into Quickbooks.

Is there a way to specify which Quickbooks to launch?

Thanks,

Fred

When QuickBooks Premier was installed it would have said that it found another copy of QuickBooks asked if you want to update it or install Premier as another copy. With QODBC you can only have one Intuit qbXML SDK at a time on a computer, so only one copy of QuickBooks should be installed.

See: Two Versions of Canadian QuickBooks 2008 for more.

Thanks, my understanding to resolve the problem is as follows.

Uninstall Quickbooks 2007.

We have a licensed copy of QODBC 2007. Will this work with Canadian Quickbooks Premier, after uninstalling QB 2007, or do we purchase QODBC 2008.

In all cases, the latest version of QODBC should always be used. See: How can I get the latest version of QODBC?
