I am somewhat confused about two things and hope someone will be kind enough to take time to respond. For one I am not sure which version of the driver I should use to create a lined server. Secondly, I get error messages after I query QuickBooks and cannot say whether this is due to the way I set up linked server or the version of my driver is wrong.
Some facts:
I tested trial version with MSSQL 2000 and had no issues. There was some discussion around different syntax. I used following:
select * from openquery (QB, ''SELECT TOP 10 * FROM Check'')

I purchased QODBC Desktop Edition Read Write Driver for QuickBooks. Is this a right version to create lined server in MSSQL 2005 or should I get QODBC Server Edition?

After I created linked server all attempts to query QuickBooks fail. Does not appear that linked server is recognized at all, which prompts me to think that MSSQL server "does not see" data source. All tests with driver GUI pass.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Using LInked SQL Server 2005 tables normally requires a QODBC Server Edition license. You will need to use the QODBC Remote Connector instead. Run both the iBiz Remote Connector and the QODBC Remote Connector on the your SQL Server. See: I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote? for more on setting up the remote connector.
