Suggestions for:
Creating web-based (ASP) READ-ONLY reporting for a multi-company installation.
Is it accurate that each company would need to be running on a seperate computer and unique IP address to configure your ODBC driver?
Would it be possible to load a console session on the server for each company, if so how would the ODBC driver identify the correct session in a multiple session environment?
Pls specify all licensing issues and requirements.
thx. |

QuickBooks can only have one company file open, that's where the limitation comes in. So you can either setup a different DSN for each company file and open close them in your ASP program, but that also means you can only have one web session running.
Alternatively, you can setup a QuickBooks Company file server on a workstation for each company file you want to connect to and use the QODBC Remote Connector, see: I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote? for more.
A QODBC license is required for each computer. |
