I am working with a client and am trying to attach to the the database using the QODBC.  I am able to access the company through QB but not through the QODBC.

There is no defined error.

I have loaded the QB, Data and QODBC on my laptop for testing. QB and QODBC are non-activated.

Do I need to be in an activated enviroment?

The end objective is to read data to import into a SQL 2005 database.

QuickBooks needs to be registered (even trial versions) before QODBC can be used. See: How do I connect to QuickBooks for the first time? for more.
