Reinstalling QODBC to work with another version of QuickBooks |

We need to get QODBC working with QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 5.0. We were able to get QODBC to work with QuickBooks pro 2005 on the same machine. We have now installed QB Enterprise but we can't get QODBC to connect. I have searched the forums and learned the QODBC doesn't support multiple versions of Quickbooks. How does QODBC determine what version of QuickBooks to connect to? Does it only work with the last version of QuickBooks installed?
We have tried uninstalling QODBC and reinstalling but we still get the following error:
"QB begin session failed. Error = 8004042b, This call is unavailable in this version of QuickBooks"
We are running QODBC version 6.00.00.176 in evaluation mode.
Any help with the above problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Alright, to get this all working again, please delete your:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit
folder and re-install your QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 5.0 edition of QuickBooks as a new install and install QODBC again afterwards.
From there do the: How do I connect to QuickBooks for the first time? procedure (that you know by heart now).
Based on what I've seen on other computers, I'm guessing that parts of the Pro version of QuickBooks are still in the Common Files folder that were most likely overlooked when you installed QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 5.0. |
