Hello,

I'm using the QODBC driver in Excel to open several QBW files one at a time and aggregate data into a single report.

I'm using this for my connection string:

"DRIVER={QODBC Driver for QuickBooks};SERVER=QODBC;DFQ=q:\companies\Blair Ridge Apartments.QBW;OLE DB Services=-2;OptimizerOn=No;"

I have some files that work fine and some that give me an error as follows:

Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':

[QPDBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 8004041d, This application is not allowed to log into this QuickBooks company data file automatically. The QuickBooks administrator can grant permission for an automatic login through the Integrated Application Preferences.

If I open the file with quickbooks, the program can access it without any problem but if quickbooks isn't open with that file, I get this error. When I go into the Integrated Application Preferences I see the entry created when I authorized integrated access to this file. If I delete that and re-access the file (while it's open in quickbooks) it re-creates that entry but still won't work without the file being open in quickbooks.

I'm not finding any obvious differences between the files that work and the files that don't.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Thanks,

John

Sounds like it's the: After upgrading to QuickBooks 2006 or 2007, QODBC "auto-login" unattended mode no longer works? problem.
