If you are a QuickBooks 2006 Enterprise user in the Unitied States, then QODBC works by default in read-only (download) mode only. You will need to purchase the QODBC Desktop Read/Write Edition in order to write (upload) data in QuickBooks.

What version of QODBC did you purchase? If you are using a USA version of QuickBooks 2006 Enterprise, then QODBC works by default in read-only (download) mode only. You will need to purchase the QODBC Desktop Read/Write Edition in order to write (upload) data in QuickBooks.

If you haven't activated your QODBC Desktop Edition yet, see: How do I activate QODBC? I get an error from the QODBC activation server? for the manual activation procedure.

Hi,
I have the read/write version of QODBC (v9.00.00.253), and I've activated it, and it says it successfully activated, but when I try to write to QB, I still get the error message, "This function requires activation of Desktop Feature".  Is there something else I need to change?

If you purchased a READ ONLY copy of QODBC and try to write data into QuickBooks you will get this message. You need to have a read/write QODBC CDKey Code.

I do have a read/write CD code...at least, that's what I remember purchasing, and that's what my invoice says.  In the ABOUT tab of the setup it also says "QODBC Desktop Read Write 2008"

From email invoice:
"Product Ordered: QODBC Desktop Driver for Quickbooks USA 2008 Read Write"

Try using VB Demo instead of MS Access. If you were using the QODBC Enterprise Desktop Edtion that comes with QuickBooks Enterprise, then you will need to uninstall QODBC and download the QODBC full product version and install it instead.

The VB Demo is what I've been using the whole time.  I also tried uninstalling, and used the installer file from http://www.qodbc.com/download.htm to reinstall, and that didn't change anything either.

I also tried removing the Flex Quarters references in the QB Intergrated Applications window, (as in thread http://www.qdeveloper.com.au/forum.php?homeinclude=topicdetails&forum_id=1&category_id=40&post_id=1681) and reintroducing it by starting up the VBDemo again.  There has to be a way of re-registering the driver to be able to write to QB.  This is ridiculous, I bought the read/write driver, but can't use half of it's functionality.

Sorry, but you will need to provide what version of QuickBooks you are using and what version of QODBC? If for example you now are using QuickBooks Enterprise 2009 and you purchased QODBC Desktop Driver for Quickbooks USA 2008 Read Write, then QODBC will only work as a READ ONLY driver for QuickBooks 2009 because you need a QODBC Desktop Driver for Quickbooks USA 2009 Read Write CDKey Code.

Ah, ok.  Yes, I did originally purchase QODBC for version 8 of QB, and now I've upgraded QB to v9.  Do I need to re-purchase the driver all over again? ($200), or is there some sort of discount upgrade price?

QODBC Desktop Read Write 2008 means anything up to QuickBooks 2008. For QuickBooks 2009 (and 2010 and so on) you need a new license CDKey Code. Contact the local sales office, or go to: http://www.qodbc.com/order.htm
