My client has downloaded and installed the current evaluation version. They are using a workstation to connect remotely (without DCOM) to the server where QB resides.

However, when running the test in VBDEMO32, they receive the following error:

ERROR [S0000] [QODBC] Only Licensed for use with Enterprise Version Please contact your dealer for an upgrade

At present we're just going to be reading from QB, but eventually we will be writing data. They are running QB enterprise software (think it's the current release, at most a year old).

Sounds like your client is trying to use the QODBC Enterprise Edition. QODBC needs to talk to QuickBooks locally, it can only talk to QuickBooks remotely using the QODBC Remote Connector using the full version of QODBC. Please download and install the latest full version update.

Note from the client:

Your client needs to first setup QODBC and use VB Demo on the computer with QuickBooks on it. Once that works, change the QODBC settings to use the QODBC Remote Connector, start up the iBiz Remote Connector and connect through the remote connector on the computer that has QucikBooks. Once that works copy the setting to the remote computer without QuickBooks and connect through the remote computer.

Note: Enterprise users are getting "[QODBC] Only Licensed for use with Enterprise Version Please contact your dealer for an upgrade" errors when they try to setup the QODBC Remote Connector. This has now been fixed by using QODBC v8.00.00.234 (or higher). See: How can I get the latest version of QODBC?
