A user of my Access 2007/QODBC v7 application recently had to reinstall QuickBooks Enterprise 7 and now I cannot perform any updates in my application. I'm getting the message "This request cannot be completed because the integrated application had requested read-only access. Have the integrated application request read/write access, and have the QuickBooks administrator grant the access. (#10053)"

I have no problem reading data and thought the solution might be that I needed to re-activate QODBC but that did not change anything. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

You need to login into QuickBooks as the "Admin" user, remove all the "FLEXquarters QODBC" integrated applications and reconnect QODBC for the first time to set your company file back to read/write mode.

I did try that but it to no avail. I finally reinstalled with QODBC v8 and then had update capability again.

I started a Reload All Data operation which formerly was always able to complete overnight. This time it was less than half way done by morning. What are the factors affecting the performance of optimization? Any idea why it would be so much slower? Also, can you tell me what happens when you cancel in the middle of a Reload All Data (i.e., are all optimizations lost or only for the current and remaining tables that were not yet optimized)?

You don't ever need to do "Reload All Data" as it optimizers all tables. You're far better off only optimizing the tables you use. See: How do I setup the QODBC Optimizer? Where are the Optimizer options? for more. Make sure Multi-Sync is unchecked!
