Where this message come from.

My environment.

    Citrix 10
Microsoft cluster server(with quick books, and connector)
Two application server machines (containing an app which connects to quickbooks)
Several client stations using the app in one machine.

Situation

When I try to access quick books thru one of the application server it works pretty fine.
The other one though, does not connections, but, present the message :
"qb open connection failed. Error trying to create IBiz quickbooks integration object"

What should we do to fix this situation?

Thanks ,

Joao Araujo,

The iBiz Remote Connector must be running on the other server as a local session by a logged-in Admistrative account first if you are connecting to QuickBooks on that server. Otherwise your QODBC Remote Connector should be pointing to the IP of the application server.

See:  I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote? for more information.

We've done all that previously. Actually, we have used the same procedure
to install both appserver. It bothers me that it was working the day before,
without any modification, except a reboot,  One does not not work anymore.

Anyway, here is the solution.

Just reinstall the ODBC driver and the problem is going to be vanished.

The message below was in the event viewer .

Application popup: connector.exe - Unable To Locate Component :
This application has failed to start because IBIZQB3.DLL was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I am receiving the same error message, however it is not consistent. :

QODBC] QB Open Connection Failed. Errored trying to Create IBiz QuickBooks Integration Object

I have the following architecture:

Windows XP pro running Quick books 2006 Pro with QODBC configured as a DCOM Server. This machine is also set up as Remote Connector Host.

Windows Server 2003 running QODBC as a client Remote Connector to facilate IIS 6. 0 running classic asp.

Can I use the QODBC remote connector this way? In other words is running a web server using a remote connector supported? If not what alternatives do I have? I have to assume a web server and quick books on different machines.

I'm not sure what causes the error (described above) but I have found that running iisreset from the command line fixes the problem. This is disturbing to me and I worry about having to reset iis every 30 minutes to fix the problem.

Also, I have been attempting to get asp.net to work with no successs on the Windows Xp Pro machine. As soon as I set up the remote connector and ran the asp.net page on remote client everything worked fine. No connection errors under this architecure, except occasionally  the IBiz error described above.
