We purchased QODBC read only version.  We are trying to access some data via an ASP page.  I think this means we need the server ($499) version.  Is there an upgrade path - so we can upgrade from the $199 to $499 version?

Thanks,

Chad

This is a technical support forum. Sales and pricing questions should be asked directly with the Sales Office for your region, please call:

USA: FLEXquarters.com LLC on: 800-932-6448 or +1 248-360-7842
Asia Pacific: Data Access Worldwide on: (03) 9761 3644 or +61 3 9761 3644
UK: Architectronic Ltd on: 0845 638 3730 or +44 (0)845 638 3730

You can however use the QODBC Remote connector and IBiz Remote Connector to connect your ASP page to QuickBooks without requiring the QODBC Server Edition.

See: I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote? for more information on how to set it up.

The Quickbooks database and the ASP page both live on the same machine.  However, when I go to connect, it tells me I need the server edition.  How would you use the QODBC Remote to locate a DB on the same machine??

Thanks for your time,

Chad

You simply configure the QODBC Remote Connector to use localhost (local machine) and make sure the IBiz Remote Connector is running in your system tray as per the instructions shown on: I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote? , (yes, they can both be running on the same machine).

BTW: Most users uncheck the "Ask for password if invalid" option.

The localhost configuration with Remote Connector is not working on our server.  I have deactivated the product and am trying to reinstall the demo to test the $499 server version before we purchase the $499 server version.  I have followed you uninstallation instructions.  However, when I reinstall the demo it tells me it is expired and I am unable to evaluate whether or not we should purchase the $499 version.  What steps should I take to properly evaluate the server version at this time?

Thanks for your help!

See: How does the 30 day evaluation work? How can I evaluate the Desktop Edition?
