We have a client running QB enterprise 6.0. We want to connect to their QB data from a remote, secure web application. We have a demo of QODBC v8.x installed along with an SSL-enabled version of nSoftware's ibiz connector.

I just want to confirm in general that QODBC is a solution that will enable us to read/write from/to QB enterprise from a web app. Is this the case?

I have more specific questions but first I want to make sure we're going down the right road.

Actually no, QuickBooks and the QODBC Server Edition (including configuring the QODBC DCOMs) needs to be installed on the remote web server and the QuickBooks Enterprise company file accessed from either a network or VPN mapped drive.

See: How can I see QuickBooks data in a Internet Explorer Browser using Windows XP? for more.

On the other hand, if the web app and server are installed on the client's local QB server....it'll work fine right?

Yes, but you still need to use the QODBC Server Edition and configure the QODBC DCOMs.
