Scheduling QODBCUPD on a Server |

We use QB 8 Enterprise via remote desktop to a QB installation on a W2003 server.
As a user, if I manually update the optimized database by clicking the "Load Updated Data" button on the setup screen it creates an .OPT file in a path relative to the current user.
If I want to set up a scheduled event on our server to run QODBCUPD.exe where is it going to store the .OPT file and how does a specific user running a Crystal report benefit from the overnight update (how does his report request draw on the .OPT file created overnight if it doesn't know where that file is) |

You can setup a different optimizer file for the Crystal Reports to use than the other disktops applications. To do this step up a seperate System DSN (see: How do I create or configure a QODBC DSN? ) and specify a fixed location of the optimizer database folder for Crystal Reports to use (like: C:\Program Files\QODBC Driver for QuickBooks) instead of the default %UserProfile% method.
