When attempting to use QODBC via remote desktop/MSAccess 2003, any query involving more than a handfull of records hangs up both Access and QuickBooks2008 Enterprise. Can you suggest a solution?
You need to select the "The start of every new connection (with "Load Updated Data" first)" optimizer option because MS Access will constantly run queries when navigating through a datasheet grid. This can be troublesome with large data tables. The optimized data will only be updated upon opening a new connection and left unupdated until the next new connection occurs again.
Question along those lines. I have a PC in another location that connects to a PC in the home office via remote desktop. My Access database works fine on the PC when you're using it, but when the person logs through the remote desktop, it fails to work.
I'm using the same login credentials (both network and Quickbooks) when I'm at the PC and at the remote location. Does a different QOBDC connection have to be set up for the remote desktop login?
The Remote login must have administrator rights and if the user login is different to your normal login, QODBC needs to be also installed when logged in as the user.
Just to clarify: do you mean the remote login on the machine in the other location, or the machine that Quickbooks and the ODBC is on?...or do you mean the Quickbooks login.
The remote login on the machine in the other location must have administrator rights and if the user login is different to your normal login, QODBC needs to be also installed when logged in as the remote user.
