Connecting From A Linux Server as an SQL client to QB Database Server |

I want to connect from a Linux Server as an SQL Client using perl, php and the like via the QODBC driver installed a Windows Server 2003 R2.
The W2k3 Server has an activated license of QODBC and a full installation of QuickBooks 2008 Enterprise database in mulit-user hosted mode and is serving other QB 2008 clients in the normal fashion. Another remote system is creating new Sales orders via IIS web services for fulfillment.
The Linux Server will be managing the orders (Credit auth, splitting orders to multiple invoices, generating packing lists and converting orders to invoices etc.)
We are attempting to read/write data in real time in an effort to move sales orders through the Quickbooks data autonomously while others are managing the existing orders, invoices and inventory items.
* Is this possible? * Do we will an additional license of QODBC running on Linux to enable the access to the W2k3 server's QB Database file? |

QODBC is a Windows platform product only. There are a number of ways to get from Linux to QODBC on a Windows Server which are all really beyond the scope of this forum.
For more information on using Linux and QODBC: click here. |
