Ive installed quickbooks on a server machine, which is accesses from many other computers

using the connector infrastructure. I has shown itself very unstable; from time to time it causes

my program to crash as well.

Researching the problem we found that even when we just use the driver manager to access

an offline quickbooks file, the driver crashs after asking for the password 3 times. We tryied many

combination of solutions, still the problem persists.

Basically I open up the QODBC MANAGER, configure it to access quickbook thru the connector(plus file name etc),

open up the connector , configure the connector password. After all this we do a connection test

which crashs the manager.

The problem does not happen when we open up Quickbooks.

Here is the messages displayed on the connector log.
Error: 851: Unable to find the QuickBooks Request Processor on your system.

Please make sure that QuickBooks 2002 Pro or higher is installed on your system. (Error: 0x80040430).

BTW, this is our production environment, we did not change anything, it was working

fine just the week before. Actually, we rebooted the machine on the weekend.

I dont know if this is related to a file problem or something.

Any clue about this issue? What other information do you guys need to help us?

thanks,

Joao,

You need to setup QODBC on the server console (local session) and check that you can connect to QuickBooks first in auto-login mode first, see: How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running?

From there check you IBiz Remote Connector (server)  and QODBC Remote Connector (clients) settings, see: I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote?
