Hello - We have QODBC Desktop read Write 2007 version 7.00.00.207.

I have successfully integrated QODBC as an ODBC data connection for data transfer to and from Goldmine6.7 (MSSQL) in a test environment . The transfers must be launched manually each time from my desktop.

The tool I have been using (Anvil) allows me to set up and run processes from a control Center accessed from the server console.  The processes can be launched manually or scheduled as jobs.  I would like to set up and run the GM-QB transfers as scheduled jobs.

The Anvil control center is currently located on the server that houses our SQL databases (including Goldmine).  The Quickbooks company file is on a different server and there is no copy of Quickbooks installed on the SQL server - nor do I know if this can be done without undesired consequences.

From what I have read I may need the Server Edition of QODBC, as well as an installed copy of Quickbooks in a location where QODBC can talk to Quickbooks which in turn connects with the company file. It looks like there are a number of other config steps related to using DCOM Servers.

Can you please clarify what steps I would need to take to enable this scenario? Thank you.

If QuickBooks isn't running on the SQL Server you must use the QODBC Remote Connector. You cannot use the Server Edition of QODBC.

See: I do not want to install QuickBooks on every machine. How do I setup QODBC Remote? for the setup instructions.
