I am having trouble trying to get a simple query working. On my SQL 2005 server i have set up a linked Server, and on that SQL server i can use Enterprise Manager and run a query ( Select * From OPENQUERY( QODBC, 'Select * from Customer unoptimized') which returns the data from the quickbooks customer table, however, from another machine, i call Enterprise manager ( on that machine ) and log it on to the main SQL server ( one with the linked server ) and try to run the same query, Enterprise Manager just sits there stating it is Execuring Query. Can any one suggest where i may be going wrong
Thanks |

My understaning is that the QODBC linked server is only a local database on the linked server. It can't be called from anywhere else. That's why customers use DTS and SSIS to copy the QODBC tables to a native MS SQL Server Database so many users can access them. |
