I never tested the original driver that came with Quickbooks in this environment, and can't get the evaluation driver to return a recordset, using either ADO or JDBC.  ( The SQL client I use -- the JDBC -- works on the production environment, so the problem must be with the driver...  I ran the uninstall program, but when I go to configure the ODBC driver, it still has the evaluation message -- meaning that the original environment was not fully reinstated!  Do I have to reinstall to get the original functionality?

For other readers, the reference here is to QODBC Read Only v6 Enterprise Edition that ships with the USA version of QuickBooks Enterprise 2006.

When a full QODBC product install is run, the registry keys are changed to reflect that a full version of QODBC is now in use, not the cut down version Intuit requires us to deliver. Once that happens, the 30 day evaluation read write mode will have priority over the Enterprise read only mode. When the evaluation period expires, the installation will revert to the Enterprise read only mode.

See: I am a QuickBooks Enterprise user and updated QODBC but it now runs as an Evaluation only? for more info.
