We have a 5-seat multi-user QuickBooks Enterprise USA Edition license. Your response to our last problem was to update QODBC to your latest version, so we downloaded ver 6.00.00.150, but now QODBC comes up as Evaluation copy only. Help! We have 23 days left on the Evaluation copy. Are we doing something wrong in the install process? |

Several issues with QuickBooks Enterprise 6 & 7 users becoming unlicensed when using the FLEXquarters.com main download version of the QODBC driver have been addressed after Build 6.00.00148. QODBC v6.00.00.150 and higher does not require a CD Key to run in Enterprise (Read only) Editon mode for QuickBooks 2006 & 2007 Enterprise USA only users.
To remove the evaluation message, simply change your workstation date to next month beyond the current 30 day evaluation period and launch the QODBC Setup screen, but don't run any queries while the date is advanced! Locate the "QODBC Driver for QuickBooks" program group on your desktop. Click on the "QODBC Setup Screen" icon to launch the setup program supplied with QODBC.
The following general setup screen will become available.
Click on the About button and check that the evaluation period has been expired by the change of your system date. Once that's done, restore your system date to today's date and QODBC will run in the normal Enterprise (Read only) Editon mode for QuickBooks 2006 & 2007 Enterprise users.

That seems to do the trick! I moved the date on the next PC to April 20th, then went into Utilities, Configure QODBC and the Expiration message was gone. The "About" screen says we're on ver .150. When I set the date back to today, it still looked good - no expiration message. We'll proceed now with loading ver .150 on the remaining PCs. Thanks for your help! |

My understanding is that the safest way to use the full version of QODBC with QuickBooks 2006 & 2007 Enterprise Edition users is to simply let the 30 day evaluation period expire by itself after 30 days. The full product evaluation will expire allowing the secondary test to see if QuickBooks 2006 or 2007 Enterprise Edition is present to be verified and QODBC will continue to run in Enterprise Read-Only mode.
Basically it's a case of don't do nothing and it will still work. |

NOTE: If you using QODBC v7.00.00.207 (or later) you will not have this problem. So if you are using QODBC v6, simply install v7 over your current installation of QODBC. See: How can I get the latest version of QODBC? |
