I would like to be able to change the Price and Cost fields in all Items including Assembly. Can I do this with Alpha 5? Or, can this be done?

The Item table is a read only table view of the ItemInventory, ItemNonInventory, ItemOtherCharge, ItemInventoryAssembly, ItemService, ItemFixedAsset, and ItemGroup tables. Your update statement needs to run against the actual table with the item in it.

If these are stock parts, see: How do I do Inventory Adjustments? for COGS adjustments. As far as the sales price and purchase price are concerned, the update statement is:

UPDATE ItemInventory set SalesPrice = 1200.00, PurchaseCost = 700  where Name = 'Acer Notebook'

If I understand your reply, I don't want to change the COGS, I want to change the selling price and the cost field.

I want to be able to edit my prices in Alpha 5 and then write them to Quickbooks with one operation, not to have to edit them one at a time, if this is possible.

In Quickbooks, I can import selling prices by way of an Excel file on everything except an Assembly.  Can an Assembly have the selling price imported through Alpha 5?

Thank you,

DAvid

Yes, the same UPDATE statement also applies to the ItemInventoryAssembly table:

UPDATE ItemInventoryAssembly set SalesPrice = 2000.00, PurchaseCost = 1100.00  where Name = 'Interior Door kit'
