Hi I have

Quick books 8 Enterprise Acc. Edition and it is Registered

Microsoft SQL Server 2005

When I try to use the QODBC connector to connect to it with  Use DCOM Servers *Option under the Server Addition tab in QODBC Driver Window- I get the following Error:

Test connection to QuickBooks Failed

[QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 80040431, The application trying to connect to QuickBooks does not support QuickBooks Simple Start Edition. Please contact the manufacturer of your application for a version that does support QuickBooks Simple Start Edition.

Without that option DCOM Servers it works fine but I need that option to make it work with Microsoft SQL

Any help would be appreciated?

You can't use the QODBC (Reand only) Enterprise Desktop Edition bundled with QuickBooks Enterprise 2006, 2007 and 2008 with MS SQL Server. The use of the QODBC DCOMs require a full QODBC Server Edition license.

I have downloaded your trial QODBC version yesterday that is read and write. The only limitation is 20 write transactions?  Are you telling me that we have to purchase the license in order to test it with DCOM?

Thank you very much

No, not to test within the first 30 days. See: How does the 30 day evaluation work? How can I evaluate the Desktop Edition?
