| Missing BuildAssembly tables in Australian Version |

Hi,
I cannot refer to the BuildAssembly and BuildAssemblyComponentItemLine tables. I am using QODBC v7.00.00.214 & the Australian version of QB 2007/2008.
The online documentation seems to suggst this should be possible - am I missing something, or are these tables intentionally disabled?
Reference documentation is here http://www.qodbc.com/docs/html/qodbc/20/tables/table_info_all_oz.asp
Thanks,
Tim. |

As per: How do I Build Assemblies?, the BuildAssembly, BuildAssemblyComponentItemLine tables are only available to QuickBooks USA users only.
The Schema doc you are looking at has already been updated for the USA version of QuickBooks 2007 and QODBC v7. The doc also has a lot of errors and now shows many QuickBooks 2007 only features that don't even work with the USA version of QuickBooks 2006, you should always use:
sp_columns tablename
to see what are the schema rules of the QODBC build, QuickBooks version, country edition and company file you are using! |

Hi Tom, thanks for your prompt reply.
I had found the post that you refer to, but noted that it was almost a year old...
I understand that sp_columns will give me an accurate listing of what is available via the driver. I guess what I really want to know (and this may not be the best place to ask it) is: Is this functionality that will appear in due course as the result of a bug fix, or is this functionality that is simply not intended to be available in the Australian v7 release?
Can you provide any pointers on where I might find reliable info on what's supposed to be in the driver - I had thought that the online documentation page I was looking at was both country and version specific. If the driver essentially mirrors the QB API as it is updated, perhaps there is a place where I can find this sort of info in relation to the various versions of the QB API?

The Australian versions of QuickBooks 2004, 2005, 2006/07 and 2007/08 all use a modified version of Intuit's qbXML SDK Release 3.0, while in the United States they are up to SDK Release 6 and version 7 for QuickBooks 2008 is in beta. The functionality is already in QODBC, it's the version of QuickBooks issued by Quicken (Reckon Ltd in Syndey) thats four years out of date.
This support forum is based on the United States version of QuickBooks, but because the forum is run out of Australia, everything gets covered and topics will say you can only to this with the USA version where applicable. |
