I have a new PC with Microsoft OFFICE 2007 installed. Upon trying to use Access to query data using the FlexODBC ODBC Driver for DataFlex Files Version 4.00.24 Access immediately shuts down - even if I just click of a different field in the liked tabled Access closes - any ideas ??
I have a couple of mission critical database's written in Access 2003 that everything works fine in on Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003. However on a new PC with Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows XP installed on as soon as I try to query or even sort a linked table in MS Access 2007, MS Access closes down without an error.
Even if i set up a new database and link tables the problem is the same.
Help needed urgently thanks

The most common reasons for MS Access 2007 to crash when linking tables are virus scanners like Norton have disabled VBA and Office add-ons. You need to turn off their Office Plug-in.

FlexODBC doesn't work on Microsoft Windows Vista yet. If you're not running Vista, try using VB Demo with your data, and if that doesn't work, try using one of the test data tables using the DataFlexTest32 DSN instead. |

I am running Windows XP, Office 2007, Norton Internet Security 2007, Arrow Financialsand your driver for ODBC Even with Norton disabled and using the Test data Access still shuts down - ie if i try to linkd all 3 tables - it shuts down - go into database and only one table is linked - if i then say try to sort a field in that table - Access shuts down !
Is your driver compatible with Access 2007 ???????
Thanks |

Interesting, we had similiar reports with the MS Access 2007 Beta 2 release earlier on. The Access 2007 terminations seem to all happen on Windows XP platforms while on Windows Vista, MS Access 2007 works without a hitch. |

Have had Norton Antivurus Security for Microsoft Documents turned off all along - i even uninstalled Norton completely and tried but problem was the same. So i don't believe that is the issue. Any other suggestions ?? Checked Access trust centre settings and they are fine too. |

There appears to be some memory problems with FlexODBC v4.0.024. I've already reported this issue to the FlexODBC Software Engineer under QSupport Ticket ID: DF00000002 dated 29 Aug 2006 13:52:50 for further investigation. There is no time frame set for when I will receive a reply. |
