I am running Windows 2003 server Small Business edition. I have QB Accountant Edition 2006 loaded and running. I have installed QODBC driver and had my ASP app able to query it. But it stopped working. So I reinstalled QODBC, went thru pages of your helpdesk on DCOM and the security settings (iusr_MachineName, ASPNET, interactive) and have not been able to get the ASP to work. I now have the linked SQL service working to where I can do some queries, but some fail. Here is the error I am getting, know that I have gone into the QB preferences and set these settings. I think it may have to do with my connection string, but I have tried a bunch of different combinations (as shown in your forum).

There was a problem running a DataLayer. The error was: OLE DB provider 'MSDASQL' reported an error. OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDASQL' IDBInitialize::Initialize returned 0x80004005: ]. [OLE/DB provider returned message: [QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 8004041d, This application is not allowed to log into this QuickBooks company data file automatically. The QuickBooks administrator can grant permission for automatic login through the Integrated Application preferences. ] [OLE/DB provider returned message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed]

Thanks in advance.

James

Services connect in unattended mode, see: After upgrading to QuickBooks 2006 or 2007, QODBC "auto-login" unattended mode no longer works?
