I lost  data in DF while working in Access via the Flex ODBC driver even though the “Read” box was checked (Access application would be writing back to DF when the read only box checked in the setup screen).

The "Read only" box must be checked in the DSN you are using. It's not a global setting. Check the DSN you are using and the what setting you have for DataFlex Data32.

It is checked in the DSN I'm using and still have the problem.

If you changed the DSN to read-only after you linked the tables in Access, then Access would have already stored the connection setting without the read-only setting. Try creating a new mdb with the DSN and try again. I just created a form and tried to change info in the customer table and I wasn't allowed to do so.
