The post How do I setup the QODBC Optimizer? Where are the Optimizer options? gives the following instructions:
Passing a DSN on the command line to these programs will choose the QuickBooks company file you wish to use.
and shows a dosbox with "qodbcupt Quickbooks Data" on a command line.

I'm sorry, but this does not mean anything to me. Can someone post an example showing the correct formatting for use with a multi data-file situation so I can get this to do as an overnight job.

Regards,

Albie

For multiple QuickBooks company files, using the QODBC Setup, you setup a DSN for each company file with the full path to the qbw file, ie: Company1, Company2 etc.

and then you would run:

qodbcupt Company1

followed later on by:

qodbcupt Company2

etc..

Note: Only one QuickBooks company file can be opened at the one time, so you need to schedule each process to run at separate times. Both QODBCFUL.EXE or QODBCUPD.EXE set the errorlevel variable if errors are detected, and error messages are written into the QODBCLOG.TXT log file.

For this work QODBC "Auto Login" unattended mode also needs to be setup, see: How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running?
