I've run the "dcpinst.exe" and "QODBCSetDCOM.VBS" files.

I am still unable to configure a linked database in SQL Server 2000 because the provider types are not available.

I am going to the "Security" tab in Enterprise Manager, then the "Linked Servers" area. When I add a new linked server, I would expect the QODBC type to be an available provider name, but it's nowhere to be found.

I followed the directions in the other threads that say I *MAY* have to kill the "qbXMLRP.....exe" files from memory, but they are never loaded.

 

What am I missing?

The provider is Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Driver:
