Upgrading from QBES v4 to QBES v6 |

We are currently in the development phase of a new software application project where quite a bit of QBES v4 / qODBC development has been done to push and pull data from QuickBooks.
What are the ramifications of upgrading our QuickBooks from v4 to v6?
Will the qODBC based functions and applications need to be completely re-written?
Is there a migration tool?
Do I need a different version of the qODBC drivers?
Are the table structures in v6 similar to v4 so that queries and views do not have to be rewritten?
Has anyone had experience with an upgrade similar?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. |

You just need to purchase QODBC v6. I've been using QODBC since v3 and not a single SQL statement that I ran using QODBC v3 won't run with v6 today.
What has been happening in the United States is added QuickBooks functionality, but the rest of the world has been stuck on the SDK 3.0 level that was released with QuickBooks 2004. So while there are additional tables, all the ones that you worked with as still there.
QODBC v6 will run in evaluation mode for 30 days, so you can download it and evaluate it with your new software application project. |
