Access 2 Quickbooks files on 1 server |

We access QODBC through linked server from SQL Server 2005. For just one company, it works OK. Now we need to access 2 quickbooks files (2 companies) which are mounted on the same server using the QODBC Server edition (The server machine is also SQL Server host). For this configuration I do not think the remote connector is the correct solution. Can it be done? If so, what is the best practice for security and speed? |

Unfortunately QuickBooks only supports the opening of one company file at a time. You will need to disconnect, wait a few seconds and reconnect through another DSN that's linked to another company file or use the QODBC Remote Connector to connect to another computer running QuickBooks and the second company file. If you use two machines, each acting as a QuickBooks Server, you can have the two company files open at the same time. |
