Hi,

I'm having intermittent problems with a cgi script that access the QB database via Apache web server.  We own the Server edition of the ODBC driver.

For the most part, the program works fine but on ocassion, the program will run Ok on the host machine but it will not connect or return results when run from a client.  Today, it stopped working on the host as well.  The ODBC driver log says:

2006-08-10 15:27:54 QODBC Ver:  6.00.00.155 *********************************************************************************************************************
IsAService: False
Open Connection Failed. S0000 00000 [QODBC] QB Open Connection Failed. Create DCOM Instance Error = 8000401a, Unknown error.. Created qbXMLRP2 OK.
SDK Module: QBXMLRP2EQODBCInteractive.exe

Thanks for your help,

Carlos Pereyra

Basically web servers need to be rebooted daily or every second or thrid day depending on the frequency of QODBC use , server memory etc. Try rebooting the web server to see whether the QODBC DCOM servers are in fact working before reconfiguring them.
