| Change chart of accounts programatically |

The chart of accounts for the company in QB Pro 2004 is in need of being changed. I was wondering if there was a way to change the coa programatically as I assume that all the transactions in QB have a tag to specific accounts in the GL-COA.
Thank you. |

The Chart of Accounts is represented in the Account table. Account names can be changed like this:
Update Account Set Name = 'Toms Retained Earnings' where Name = 'Retained Earnings' |

Tom, thank you for the quick response to my question.
Will there be any negative effect to the changes in the COA? Do I need to go to other tables to make the changes to the referenceID and AccountName fields where the changed Account is referenced?
Thanks, Kevin. |
