Hi,

We are using QuickBooks Premier 2007 Canadian Edition and QODBC 7.0.0.214. We try to connect to QB database with the help of ADODB Connection object using below connecting.

Connection String: "DSN=QB;DFQ=C:\Sample.qbw"

But with above connection string, connection unable to establish and QODBC gives an error message “An internal QuickBooks error occurred while trying to access the QuickBooks company data file.”

However, the connection gets established successfully for same database in VB DEMO.

Please advice!

Thanks in Advance!

Clifford

When you use a DFQ= value in a connection string, QuickBooks must be closed and the company file must load in unattended mode. See: How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running? and How do I build a connection string with all the available QODBC parameters?  for more.
