Hello,
Ordinarily, I would not be asking this question on these forums, but I have been unsucessful at contacting the company by phone or email.

I am looking at buying the Server version of QODBC but am not sure if it will work with my setup.  We have a SBS2003 server that I would like to create a website to display some of the information in QB Enterprise 2007.  I noticed in the requirements that QB has to be installed on the server.  Is this the QB Server Manager program, or does the full QB program have to be on the server?

Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Andrew

No, the full version of QuickBooks will need to be installed on the web server. See: How can I see QuickBooks data in a Internet Explorer Browser using Windows XP? for further information.

Thanks Tom!  I have two additional questions that were raised by my boss.

I assume that installing QB on the server would not cause a problem?  I ask this because I have heard that some end-user programs have a tendency to cause problems on servers.

Also, how many users would the qodbc server edition use? I assume it would use only one to server the data to the webpage, but I would like to verify this before we procede.

Thank you again for your help!

QuickBooks isn't a product supplied by us, contact Intuit directly in regards to its suitability on your web server. QODBC is licensed to each computer and doesn't use user counting, so it doesn't matter how many web users there are, other than server loading and actual performance. QODBC runs as a 30 day Server Edition evaluation so you can determine it's suitability to your requirements before you buy.
