Hi All,
I have installed a trial copy of QB2008-2009QBI Pro (which is activated) and a copy of QODBC Version 8.00.00242.
After following the guide on setting this program up I can get to the step of setting up the connection in the VB Demo 32 and then I get the following error
[QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error Calling OpenQBConnection Returned Error: 10061 - [10061] connection refused
any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks in advance

The copy of QuickBooks must be registered before any Integrated Applications like QODBC will work. You can check whether your copy of QuickBooks is registered or not by doing Ctrl-1 within QuickBooks. You must also be logged into QuickBooks as the admin account. |

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the prompt response, I am already logged in as the administrator to the file and by clicking ctrl-1 it shows that it is already activated (i assume this means registered as it appears in the same location on the screenshot)
I enuried both of these were done prior to posting the below. |

Check the QODBC Setup Screen "About" tab for the status of your copy of QODBC. Hopefully you installed the right region and the evaluation hasn't expired? QODBC v8 currently is a fully functional ODBC driver for reading and writing Australian, New Zealand and Asian versions of QuickBooks 2007/08, 2006/07, 2005/06, 2004 and 2003 Pro, Premier, Accountant and
Enterprise accounting data files by using standard SQL queries.
We are currently still working on a new version of QODBC for the QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Series. You will need to download the QuickBooks 2008/09 update to QODBC that will appear at: QODBC Updates and Bug Fixes when available for full functionality on inwards tax and other features added by Quicken/Reckon in
Sydney. But quite a number of users have already got QODBC to work (to a certain extent) with the new QuickBooks QBi 2008/09 Series. |
