We just upgraded to Quickbooks Enterprise 09 and upgraded to QODBC v9. We are currently re-optimizing our tables by running our nightly queries one at a time. The Invoice table is updating painfully slow according to the Optimizer status window. It has been running for one hour and has processed 60 records. One record a minute is a bit ridiculous. Did the move to QB 09 cause QODBC to become slower?
No, when you updated to QODBC v9 all the installation defaults got reinstated. You need to change your optimization settings to use the The start of every new connection (with "Load Updated Data" first) option and confirm that the Multi-Table Sync option has been disabled. If not, uncheck the Multi-Table Sync option as this is often defaulted on (checked) with QuickBooks Enterprise and the QODBC Enterprise Desktop Edition.
Would it make a difference that our license says "QODBC Desktop Read Write 2007" (serial number begins with W07U...)? The QODBC version is 9.0.0.253. I am just trying to understand what may have changed in our upgrade to Enterprise 9.0 that could have killed our query performance.
Yes it does, you need to either purchase a new full product QODBC Read/Write CDKey Code with a serial number that begins with W09U... for QuickBooks Enterprise 9 (2009) or deactivate your W07U... CDKey Code so the QODBC optimizer can run in Enterprise Desktop (read only) mode correctly.
