I had an app that was able to add items in QB 8 (Enterprise) with QODBC.  I just upgraded to version 9, and now cannot add items as before.  Has there been any changes that anyone is aware of (such as new mandatory item fields) in order to add inventory and non-inventory items in the QB 9 version?  I tried the older 8 and the latest 9.0 version of QODBC and no difference there.   Also, for some reason, the QODBC driver is no longer writing to the QODBCLOG file... even when encountering the errors.  Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

If for example you now are using QuickBooks Enterprise 2009 and you purchased QODBC Desktop Driver for Quickbooks USA 2008 Read Write, then QODBC will only work as a READ ONLY driver for QuickBooks 2009 because you need a new QODBC Desktop Driver for Quickbooks USA 2009 Read Write CDKey Code.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply.   The 9 version of QODBC did indicate that it activated sucessfully with the CD Key code we were given.  Does this mean it is in READ/WRITE mode?  How do I  actually tell if it has the WRITE capabilities in addition to the READ?  I don't see this on the About tab for the driver.  I am curious as to why there isn't anything being appended to the log file to help me troubleshoot this as well.  I am not seeing any way to enable or disable the logging to the QODBCLOG  file. so I am not sure why I am not getting anything written to the log file.

Sorry, what does your about tab actually say about your license status?

the About tab indicates:
QODBC Desktop Read Write 2008 OEM
Version 9.00.00.253
Serial Number D08U10018229
Licensed to AIMedia Solutions OEM

Ahh.. so you are saying that the QODBC driver will only function in "Read only" mode for QB Enterprise 9 (is this the same as USA 2009) based on it being a "QODBC Desktop Read Write 2008 OEM"?

I thought I had read that it worked for all versions, but is it just backward compatible?

QODBC Desktop Read Write 2008 OEM means anything up to QuickBooks 2008. For QuickBooks 2009 (and 2010 and so on) you need a new license CDKey Code.
