I just had to reinstall everything on this computer due to a hard disk failure.  When I setup QODBC 5.0, I can access a company file, see all the tables that exist, but when I try to read data in the tables, I get no response from the VB demo, and Process Request error = 80042500 in the qbdsklog.txt log file and QBXMLProcessXMLWithStringPointer4 Error: Error = 80040400 in the qodbctra.txt trace file.  I have a feeling there is some support files I am missing that aren't installed by quickbooks or qodbc, perhaps something from microsoft.  I did a floppy transfer of the license from my computer to another computer in the office, and everything works fine over there, with the same quickbooks company file.  I tried uninstalling qodbc and reinstalling to no avail.  Like I said earlier, this is a fresh install, so there are no prior versions to deal with.  I am using Quickbooks 2005 pro and qodbc 5.0.0.104.

If you really need to get this working on your computer, please delete your:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit

folder and re-install your Quickbooks Pro 2005 edition as a new install and install QODBC again afterwards.

Note: If you are using the company file off a network, then you will need to apply the same QuickBooks updates to the new copy of QuickBooks to bring it to the same level as the other copies of QuickBooks you are running the company file with.
