Using Enterprise 2006 Trial

If I open Access XP, link the tables from Quickbooks (via QODBC DSN), and try to open the Vendor table, it takes 3 minutes to finish.  Yes, I removed the checkmark for the Optimizer, and no, I don't want to test SQL queries at this point.  I understand I can get specific fields only if I manually type in specialized queries, but that's not what I'm testing at this point.

Why does it take 3 minutes for that small table, and why is it constantly "Waiting on Quickbooks"??
