Installed 7.00.00.214

I cannot seem to get a successful test connection to my quickbooks data file.

We run it in multiuser mode and I had the file I needed opened. I was also logged in as Admin user.

I got these errors trying to connect two different ways

This is the error I got when I had the company file opened ( I had chosen use currently opened file in the setup screen)

IsAService: False
Begin Session Failed. S0000 00000 [QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 8004040a, A QuickBooks company data file is already open and it is different from the one requested.
Begin Session errors can be caused when running ASP or other system service and not setting the "Advanced" button option of either "Use DCOM Servers" or "Remote Connector"

got this error when quickbooks was not running and I browsed to the network location where the qbw files were located

IsAService: False

So obivously I am doing something wrong here. As well the documents on the webpage seem to be different as far as setup goes than how its supposed to be done. Though it does seem pretty straight forward say for the fact I can't seem to get a successful test connection so I can proceed with the rest of the steps.

Any advice / help is great appreciated

thanks

Rob

The first error message indicates that QuickBooks was already running with a different company file open. QuickBooks can only have one company file open at the one time.

The second message indicates that a connection was attempted and because QuickBooks wasn't running, it couldn't open the company file selected because unattended mode has not been configured correctly. See: How do I setup QODBC to auto-login into QuickBooks and start it if it's not running? for more.
