I read in the readme for Qodbc 9 that the remote connector is still available, but there is no way to connect that I can see with the new version.

I was using WampServer w/ PHP 5 to connect to USA Enterprise Solutions MFG & Wholesale 8.0 for some time now without any issues. Is there a way to have this kind of connection w/ QODBC 9?

I am not using IIS, it's an XP machine w/ WAMP running Apache -- and it has worked flawlessly for a long time. If the webserver edition is what I need, then so be it, but if there is a fix using the new RDP system or something along those lines I would be very appreciated of some info.

Thanks in advance!

In QODBC v9 the QODBC Remote Connector has been replaced to use QuickBooks RDS - The RDS client and server components are available on the web site at: www.qodbc.com\download\RDSInstall\RDSClientInstaller.exe and www.qodbc.com\download\RDSInstall\RDSServerInstaller.exe.

The old Connection string options of: "IBizRemoteConnect", "IBizRemoteURL", "IBizRemoteUID", "IBizRemotePWD", "IBizRemoteSSLServerCert", "IBizRemotePromptForPWD",  "IBizRemoteConnTimeOut", "IBizRemoteForce2002_2003"  are all still valid and supported. The now superceeded QODBC Remote Connector EXE is also still available to use but needs to be downloaded seperately instead from: www.qodbc.com\download\RemoteConnector\connector.exe

Thanks for the info Tom. I will give that a shot.

There's no way to use the RDS server/client to access QB from PHP the way it could be done w/ the Remote Connector, correct?

No, you can still use PHP, a QODBC Desktop Edition and the RDS client to access the RDS server where the QuickBooks Database Server (the Sybase Anywhere Server) is on the actual network server.

See: Accessing QuickBooks data remotely via QODBC using RDS for more.
