This was a huge drawback in 2006 version, is this available now?

Sorry, still no. Ring up Intuit and complain! I told off an Intuit Representative last week. If everyone rang up and complained they may start making sure the qbXML SDK keeps up with the QuickBooks User Interface.

See: QuickBooks SDK 6.0 for U.S. editions of QuickBooks 2007 for what new features we got in the qbXML SDK v6 release for QuickBooks 2007 (USA only) this year.

Using QODBC v8.00.00.234 (or higher) and QuickBooks 2008 (USA and UK Editions) you can now see and insert Manufacturer Part Numbers!
