I got his message when I went through the setup screen. I think it is because the qbw data file is passworded and I am not logged in.

[QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error calling OpenQBConnection Returned Error:10061 Connection refused.

I only have th qbw data file so I configured it to point directly to the file since I do not have QuickBooks installed on my machine. Can I still use your program to extract data?

Sorry, to start using QODBC, you first need to run QuickBooks on your computer logged in as an Administrator and open your company file, or one of the sample company files that came with QuickBooks, as per: How do I connect to QuickBooks for the first time?

Your copy of QuickBooks must also be registered, even if you are using a trial copy or evaluation.
