Hi so that we can gain extra reports on goods invoiced so that we can create "Items Ordered Totals for Production Reports" on a daily basis we are impoting 2 files from QuickBooks Premiere 2007/08 into Access.

We are importing 2 files " Invoice Line " and NonInventoryItem"

Although our company file is only 9 months old our invoice line file is quite large 90,000 kb and takes over 25 mins to import.

Is there any way we can change the code so that we can speed it up by perhaps:
a) we are only importing invoice lines from a more current date
b) we only imort the fields from this table that we require
c) any other means

Using an Access report program written for us :::   As soon as we have finished adding orders into Quickbooks each afternoon  we import the data into Access then run queries to produce our production List. This is repeated each afternoon hence we are importing the new data each day

Thankyou we hope to be able to pass any info you can give us on to our programmer

Regards
Mark

Yes, both tables have TimeCreated and TimeModified columns so you can only import new or modified invoices or new or modified non inventory items. There's no need to import all the information again. In fact there's even no need to import the tables, they can be linked or you can simply import the report data drectly, see: Running an sp_report in Access using VBA for more.
