Does QuickBooks always have to be open for me to pull data from the file? Can I pull data from a file that is closed? |

QuickBooks has to running in order to get data from QuickBooks files, because it contains the business logic and security rules, but it can run in the background (invisible). To do this you have to configure QuickBooks to allow QODBC to login automatically. This is set in QuickBooks under the Edit->Preferences menu->"Integerated Applications" Icon on the left->"Company Preferences" tab. Highlight "FLEXquarters QODBC" and right click to get "Properties". Check the "Allow this application to read and modify this company file" and "Allow this application to login automatically" And choose a User from the drop down.
Note: In the QODBC Setup Screen you will have to supply the full path to your Company File.
