| QODBC 2006, if purchased does it support QuickBooks 2003? |

Yes, QODBC does work, the driver is backward compatible thru to QuickBooks 2002 - USA, 2003 elsewhere. The only variable is what is available to you through the qbXML SDK interface for the version of QuickBooks you are using. Intuit keeps adding features with every new revision of the SDK. Check out the schema http://www.qodbc.com/Schema.htm to see what was available to you in the 2003 version.
Please Note: Effective April 30, 2006, in accordance with Intuit's QuickBooks Sunset Policy, QODBC is no longer actively supported on QuickBooks 2003 (or earlier) and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Version 2.0 & 3.0.
