I am trying to upgrade from QODBC Pro 5.0 to Pro 6.0, when I downloaded QODBC v6 from your site and installed it, it keeps showing the Setup screen for Version 5. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing a couple of times with no luck.

We've had this also stick sometimes during testing, normally because a system service had the fqqb32.dll open. Using Windows Explorer, go into your Windows | System32 folder and rename fqqb32.dll to fqqb32.v5.

Then re-install QODBC v6 over the top of what's there - don't uninstall anything.

Note: If you have a registered copy of QODBC, then QODBC v6 will continue working with the version of QuickBooks you originally purchased QODBC to work with. You don't need to re-register or activate it.

In fact, you will have free use of the new optimizer for 30 days. To continue using the optimzer, or use QuickBooks 2006, you will need to purchase QODBC v6 to obtain the new CD Key required to activate v6.

I am having this same issue with a client; however, the resolution posted here did not resolve the issue.  They keep getting a popup box to register V5 telling them that the serial number is required.

Is your client using QODBC v5 or v6? Have they purchased a QODBC license? Do they have a Serial Number or CD Key?

Our client was using the OEM Install of the V5 Driver (I have the registration info for that), they upgraded to QB 2006 and installed the V6 driver using our CD Key.  They were seeing the OEM registration information in the pop-up until a short while ago until they did an "uninstall" of the V5 Driver.

The OEM install of QODBC v5 is different to the standard installation of QODBC v5 (different folder and dll name), so when QODBC v6 was installed, the v5 OEM installation was left untouched.

Developer clients using the QODBC v5 OEM Edition will need to uninstall the OEM edtion when moving to QODBC v6 or higher.

We've run the uninstall, what folder and file name should we be looking for?

The QODBC v5 OEM Edition used the "Developer Name" as the setting for the folder name etc. From what I recall, there should be a uninstall shortcut in the program group for the OEM edtion.
