hi -

i have installed and configured qodbc and am pulling data from quickbooks on my windows xp machine (data resident on an sbs server in a quickbooks multi-user environment.)  now i need to access qodbc from an apache server running on windows sbs 2003.

how does the setup differ for apache from the setup for windows iis?  what qodbc products do i need to order?

thx - bob singer

For a Windows web server see: How can I see QuickBooks data in a Internet Explorer Browser using Windows XP? Everything regarding QODBC still applies except your web server is a Apache Tomcat Web Server instead of IIS.

to the best i can determine, i have followed the instructions but it still doesnt work from my apache server/web browser.  everything works from the command line.

what user id must i edit into QODBCSetDCOM.VBS?  is iusr_<hostname> specific to iis or is it necessary for apache?

the messages in the trace log are:

See: How do I manually setup the QODBC DCOM Servers on Windows XP Pro and Windows 2003 Server?

When using Windows 2003 Server you also need to check your "Enhanced Security Configuration for Internet Explorer" settings.

The Enhanced Security Configuration for Internet Explorer typically sets the IE security settings to "high", so QuickBooks throws a warning every time it starts, even for the SYSTEM service, which hangs QODBC while waiting for input.
